TPO Magazine Bids Farewell to Paper and Hello to Mobile Data Collection
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again – paper is passé. And it looks like Treatment Plant Operator Magazine agrees. In Farewell to Paper Alan Fabiano takes a look at how mobile data collection is changing the way public utilities deal with data and how doForms is a big part of that movement.
The amount of paperwork needed to keep a utility running is immense. But if you remove the “paper” from paperwork you’re left with work that becomes easier, faster and more efficient. As Fabiano notes, “Mobile technology programs are simple and easy to learn and, because they bring efficiencies that save time and money, the initial startup costs are quickly paid back. When staff members spend less time collecting and entering data, they can devote more time to process repairs and improvements.” Well put, Alan.
It’s not just about collecting data efficiently either. Utility managers are turning to paperless forms because of how doForms integrates with the software they’re already using. Mark Whippler, a wastewater treatment manager in California, sums it up. “doForms is the glue that sticks to our lab data and maintenance data. (Once) all three databases are set up correctly… we need only minor attention to software upgrades or modifying forms to meet changing requirements.”
These public utilities clearly understand what doForms can do for them. For more specifics, you can read the article here. To learn more about how doForms can help you manage your mobile data collection, please contact us.More News
